How it works
This tool allows you to submit your room layout (walls, doors, windows and other obstacles) to a professional designer. They'll then contact you with an example design based on the information you've provided.
Please wait while the application loads.
You may be asked to update the version of Java installed on your PC - simply accept all the default actions.
Once the correct version of Java is installed, you'll see an orange "Java" logo with a progress bar.
Depending on the speed of your computer and your internet connection, this may take up to one minute to load. When completed, the Room Layout Tool will appear and these instructions will disappear.
Then just follow the instructions in the left hand pane and start laying out your room!

Installation Advice of our Kitchen Room Planner
There are two different ways of launching i-Design. You can run i-Design as a Java Applet embedded into the browser or as a Java Webstart Application, which runs outside of the browser.
Ideal Requirements to run i-Design
- At least Version 6 Update 10 of the Java Runtime environment. Get it here
- The latest version of either Internet Explorer, Firefox.
- Problem browsers:
- Opera Problem: Does not detect Java correctly. It will run the applet, but assume the latest version of java is installed. Alternatively, use the orange webstart button.
- Safari Problem: Does not detect Java correctly. It will run the applet, but assume the latest version of java is installed. Alternatively, use the orange webstart button.

In the Java Control Panel under 'Advanced', the Java Plug-in node should be turned on.
- Try the alternative Java Webstart option (orange button)
- See the "Ideal Requirements" section above, and follow accordingly.
- Check that in the Java Control Panel under 'Settings', that "Keep Temporary Files" is switched to the default setting (on)
- On some browsers (such as Safari). You may need to manually launch the jnlp file after it has been downloaded. e.g right-click the file in the downloads window and click 'Open'.
Warning messages
The first time you run i-Design you may see one or both of the following warning messages
This is normal, and is part of the security features on your browser.
