About painted finishes
Painted kitchens look great and age with use. Tiny chips and touch-ups are normal on painted doors from any supplier. Many people see this gentle patina as part of the charm of a real painted finish. Keep a small touch up kit to hand and you can keep things looking tidy with minimal effort.
Before you start
Check you have the correct range and colour name. Work in good light and clean the area so it is dry and free from grease. Shake or stir the paint, then mix a small amount with the hardener following the label. Test on a hidden spot to check the match before you repair the visible area.
How to apply
-
Clean and dry the chip or mark.
-
Mix only what you need of paint and hardener.
-
Use a fine brush to dab the paint on the damage.
-
Apply thin coats, letting each coat dry.
-
Feather the edges so the repair blends in.
-
Stop once the mark is no longer obvious under normal room light.
-
Let the repair cure fully before heavy use or cleaning.
Good practice
Aim for a neat, local repair rather than repainting a large area. Thin coats look better than one heavy coat. Wipe any excess straight away. Keep a note of your range and colour for future touch ups. On On-Trend colours, expect the match to be very close, but accept that tiny differences may show in certain lights.
What it is not for
Kitchen Door Touch Up Paint is not intended for cabinets or carcasses. It is also not a solution for large scuffs or full door resprays. If the damage is extensive, replacing the affected part is usually the best route.
Storage and safety
Reseal the lids tightly after use. Store upright in a cool, dry place and keep out of reach of children. Keep away from heat and flames. Follow the safety notes on the product label.
